how to make a parrot perch stand

As with all pets, there are many things to pay attention to when raising a parrot. You will need various parrot supplies, food, parrot toys, etc., and the one thing that cannot be left out is a parrot perch. Among the various types of perches, I am planning to make another PVC pipe perch, which is already very useful.

Unboxing

16A

Outer Diameter: 22mm

Inner diameter: 16mm

Thickness: 2.7mm

Length: 10~100cm selectable

<PVC pipe order quantity>

16A 25cm – 1 piece

16A 60cm – 2 pieces

16A 10cm – 4 pieces

16A 90 degree sockets – 2

16A T socket – 2

16A Closing Caps – 4

Assembling the PVC perch

When connecting the pipe, insert tape, toilet paper, paper, etc., it will become tight and the pipe will not come off easily.

(1) Insert a 90-degree socket into a 60cm pipe and tap it with a rubber mallet to secure it

(2) Connect the 25cm pipe to the other part of the 90-degree socket.

(3) Insert the 90-degree socket into the other part of the 25cm pipe.

(4) Insert a 10cm pipe on the left and right sides of the T-socket.

(5) Attach the closing cap to the end of the 10cm pipe.

(6) Make two like number 5.

(7) Connect and insert the created pipes as shown above.

The parrot perch is now complete~

It is the same size as the perch used in the living room. It was so useful that I made another identical perch to use upstairs.

Wrap cotton string around a PVC perch.

It may look like a nice perch as is, but the slippery material makes it uncomfortable for parrots to use. If you wrap the part that the parrot grasps with with a string, it will be much more comfortable for the parrot’s feet.

I used cotton string. There is no other reason, but when I wrap the hemp string around, the beak gets torn and becomes tattered. So I use cotton string, and I usually use cotton string because it doesn’t tear much even if I tear it.

If you wrap it with a thick string, it is easy to wrap it around quickly, but the thickness of the perch becomes much thicker. It is a good idea to consider the size of your feet when deciding on the thickness of the laces. I wrapped it with the thinnest string, but it took a long time, and my hands hurt from pulling it tight.

PVC pipe

multiple uses

1. It can be used for interior design and storage. (Lighting stand, entrance decoration, molding, clothes drying rack, etc.)

2. You can use it to make pet supplies. (Cat tower, animal wheelchair, training equipment, aquarium props, etc.)

3. Other DIY (various stands, stretching bars, hangers, etc.)

Parrot perch completed. Ah, this is a very satisfying perch.

Using a perch

PVC perches are mainly used when the beak rests and waits. If they come out of their cage to play in the playground and get into trouble, I make them wait on their perch. Well, I don’t know what ‘wait’ means, but I do know that I should just be there. I’m not saying you can just sit still. ^^; The idea is to practice speaking, groom, doze, and rest there.

I waited well for a while, but when my wings started to grow slightly, I couldn’t control it because I couldn’t wait and started flying around. There was a lot of screaming, making the sound of metal being torn apart, and making a fuss. That’s why I decided to get a wing cut, and I’ve been waiting patiently since the wing cut. ^^ Phew~

for training

It’s okay if it’s raining, but the Quaker parrot refuses to be trained because it’s scared of thunder and lightning in the morning. When he came up on my arm, I said, “Okay,” and he said, “Why?” ^^

Yes, after learning the word ‘why’, I wrote it like this~

I don’t think there’s anything better as a training perch. When training, rather than a perch that is too low, it is better to use a perch that is slightly high so that the parrot cannot easily go down. It is effective to move to a quiet place and the perch is light and easy to hold, making it perfect for carrying around. I highly recommend it for training purposes as well.
